Calling all silver-lovers! It's finally here!
For the first time, we're testing out offering just Corn Gems with stainless steel caps and loops.
The jump ring on the top is able to open so you can add them to your favorite silver hoops or chain.
There are two options for direction of the loop in relationship to the face of the seed gem:
- Parallel (pictured): Best for earrings
- Perpendicular: Best for necklaces
Stainless steel is nickel-free and anti-corrosive so the metal is hypoallergenic and doesn't need to be regularly cleaned like silver.

Every gem is a real kernel of Glass Gem corn, the heirloom rainbow corn saved and bred for decades by Carl Barnes, a farmer of Cherokee heritage. We grow it ourselves in Northern California, dry the cobs for a full year, and choose only the most luminous seeds. No two are alike.

Each seed is sealed in resin to protect its color and glow. Care for them like pearls: last thing on, first thing off.
- Take off before swimming, showering, or the sauna
- Keep away from perfume, lotion, and cleaners
- Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth
- Store in its pouch, out of direct sun

Your gem began as a seed we planted in spring, tended through summer, and harvested in the fall. Then it rested on the cob for a full year before we chose it for you. You're wearing a season of our garden.
